QUAY WALLS
Quay walls are objects that are often damaged. They are susceptible to subsidence of the hinterland, tidal action, and ship docking. Subsidence can be very costly and cause safety problems. At Sensar, we measure both horizontal and vertical movement of the quay wall and its surroundings. This allows for more targeted local measurements and inspections. Then actions can be taken at locations where the risk of damage is greatest. With satellite data, the entire area can be surveyed remotely, without closing off the quay. This reduces costs, increases safety, and reduces inconvenience for the tenant or user of the quay.
BRIDGES
Bridges are generally founded objects and experience has shown that they have little to no structural movement. However, abutments may behave differently and sag toward the water or the span. Steel bridges can also expand due to temperature effects and subsidence can create a sill at the hard/soft transition to the earthen course. With satellite data, frequent measurements can be taken remotelyallowing for timely action to be done in case of deviations without the need for road closure. In addition, this working method allows for a more targeted deployment of local measurements and inspections. This saves costs, increases safety, and reduces the inconvenience to road users caused by road closures.
TUNNELS
Tunnels in water are anchored objects and, in principle, should move little to not at all. By using satellite data, timely action can be taken when this situation changes remotely, without closure of the road, water, and/or track. Note: we only measure the part of the tunnel that is above water. For tunnels below ground, we measure the ground level and the objects on it. Here we can look at the effects of work on the tunnel on the ground level and objects. See, for example, the applications properties and soil.
